Get Involved!

If you are an Owner, Contractor, Specialty Contractor or Industry Association that believes in the C3 mission of establishing a safe, skilled and sustainable craft workforce, and you would like to Get Involved, there are a number of ways to do so.

OWNERS - Endorse!

Owners support the C3 mission by designating their construction projects as C3 Projects.  By doing so, they place C3 requirements in the General Conditions of their construction contracts which mandate that the Contractor and Specialty Contractors have C3 accreditation.  This commits them to talent management practices that build a safe, skilled and sustainable craft workforce.

The Owner does not pay a fee.

C3 Owners have a long-range view with an eye on the craft workforce of the future.  They acknowledge that a safe, skilled, sustainable craft workforce is a critical element of their building program’s success.  They know that without a skilled craft workforce, there is a good chance that their projects will not be as safe, the quality of construction not as high and construction schedules and budgets may not be met.  They also recognize that there is a greater risk that their buildings will not perform to expectations because maintenance expenses will be higher and building lifecycles will be shorter.

If you are an Owner or owner’s representative, and you would like to learn more about C3, please contact Chuck Gremillion by email (chuck@c3.org) or by phone at 713.999.1218.

CONTRACTORS AND SPECIALTY CONTRACTORS - Become Accredited!

With the competition for new projects becoming more acute each day, Contractors and Specialty Contractors that earn C3 Accredited Employer status take the first step toward creating a competitive advantage for their respective companies.  Accredited Employers commit to workforce development practices that enable them to attract people to their organization and then develop them to become skilled professionals with a construction career path.

C3’s People Development Professionals guide these Accredited Employers through the talent development process with valuable consulting services that are free of charge.  This investment in the training and development of the craft workforce translates to increased employee morale and retention rates, higher quality work and less rework, a stronger brand and greater profitability.  It is not a coincidence that many of the most successful companies in the construction industry have robust talent development practices.

In addition, C3 helps companies better prepare their workers for long-term careers in construction by offering OSHA certification, NCCER courses, and talent management courses at little-to-no cost to C3 Accredited Employers.

If your company would like to learn more of how C3 can help you, please contact Angela Robbins by email (angela@c3.org) or by phone at 713.999.1032.  It might be one of the best decisions that you make.

ADVOCATES - Influence!

This is the time for trade organizations and others in the construction industry to take a leadership role in promoting private sector solutions to our workforce issues. The long-term health of your organization and its membership is dependent on raising standards that uphold a positive image. Without your leadership, the image of the industry will continue to be defined by some of its worst actors. C3 gives you and your members the tools to shape the construction industry’s future while building a safe, skilled, sustainable craft workforce.
